Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Zeroo ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Zeroo mobile app and website ("the Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

Zeroo is operated from Lagos, Nigeria. For privacy questions you can email zeroo@zeroo.ng.

2. What we collect

  • Account information. Full name, email address, optional phone number, business name and type, and a hashed password.
  • Ledger data you create. The customers, sales, payments, reminders, and notes you record inside Zeroo. This data belongs to you.
  • Device & usage data. Device model, operating system version, app version, language preference, and crash logs (via Sentry).
  • Analytics events. Anonymous events such as screen views, app opens, and feature interactions (via Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation).

We do not collect your contacts, your photos, your location, or your financial accounts.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide and maintain the Service (run the ledger, sync your data, sign you in).
  • To send transactional notifications (e.g., due-date reminders).
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To diagnose and fix bugs (Sentry crash reports — anonymised by default; we never see your ledger contents in a crash report).
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

4. Where your data lives

Zeroo stores your data on Google Cloud (Firebase) servers. Authentication and database operations happen over TLS 1.2+. Firestore Security Rules guarantee that only you can read or write your own ledger; nobody else — not even other Zeroo merchants — can access it.

5. Sharing & third parties

We share data only with the following processors, and only as needed to run the Service:

  • Google Firebase — hosting, authentication, and Firestore database (Google Cloud).
  • Sentry — crash reporting and performance monitoring (subject to their privacy policy).
  • Google Analytics 4 — anonymised usage analytics for the website and app.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — store-side review and download data we do not control.

We never sell your data. We never share your customer ledger with advertisers. We never share data with WhatsApp — the WhatsApp reminder feature opens WhatsApp on your device with a pre-filled message, and you press send. We never see the contents of those messages.

6. Your rights

  • Access & export. Request a copy of your data by emailing zeroo@zeroo.ng.
  • Deletion. Delete your account in-app: Settings → Delete my account. Or request deletion from the public page at /legal/delete-account. We will permanently delete your account and ledger within 30 days.
  • Correction. Update your profile and ledger entries directly in the app at any time.

7. Children

Zeroo is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in jurisdictions that require it). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Retention

We keep your account and ledger data for as long as you have an active account. After deletion, all your data is removed within 30 days. Anonymised analytics aggregates may be retained for up to 26 months (the Google Analytics default).

9. International transfers

Your data may be processed in regions outside Nigeria where our processors operate. All transfers are protected by industry-standard safeguards.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be communicated in-app and by email. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
